Hey Reader I got my blood work done yesterday, and I think the blood work trend has gotten a little out of hand. Every optimizer online is testing every couple weeks now. Tracking a hundred plus biomarkers. Chasing perfect numbers. You'd think all that data would make people healthier, and some of it does. But instead I watch people stress over a single lab result while sleeping five hours a night, overworking themselves, and never touching the sun. Somewhere along the way the test became the health practice. It's not. Blood work is a report card, not the actual work. And your numbers can swing on you day to day. Sleep, stress, hydration, a rough week, all of it shows up in the blood. One panel is a snapshot, not the truth about your health. That said, I'm not anti testing. When I was exposed to mold, I did more testing than I ever had in my life. That's when it's worth it. When something feels off and you need real answers, not reassurance. So here's where I land. Unless you've got a real issue, or you're putting something into your body that needs monitoring, testing every month is just expensive anxiety. The foundational habits move the markers more than any panel does. Training, sleep, sun, real food, managing stress. I test once or twice a year to confirm, not to obsess. The data doesn't change your health. The habits do. If something in your body feels off, go get checked. If nothing feels off, put the anxiety down and go live your life. Stay Healthy, Tommy |

Hey Reader, A few weeks ago I met up with my family in Italy for a week. My parents, my brother and sister, my brother-in-law, my niece and nephew. All of us in one place for the first time in a while. I did one workout the day I landed. Then I looked around and thought, why am I doing this right now? I have my family in front of me and I don't get to see them like this often. So I put it away. The rest of the week was pizza and pasta, laying on the beach, actually being present with the...
Hey Reader, Hope your summer is off to a good start. It's been a minute since I've written, but I've been heads down on something I've wanted to make for years. You know that feeling when you're out hiking, or standing somewhere in a national park, and your whole body just settles? The stress drops. Your head goes quiet. You feel grounded again. We've all felt it. But I got obsessed with a different question: what does the actual science say is happening? Turns out it's real, and it's...
Hey Reader, After 20+ years of coaching, here’s the pattern I keep seeing: People don’t fail because they lack information. They fail because they try to fix everything at once. Fat loss. Muscle. Cardio. Sleep. Supplements. Stress. Too many targets. No traction. Getting in great shape doesn’t require more effort. It requires better order. Here are the big levers: 1. Get honest about where you’re at Not emotionally. Objectively. Bodyweight trend. Waist measurement. Monthly photos. Bloodwork...
